Statistic South Africa's latest labour force survey (LFS March 2006) has been released and made available to our clients in it's entirety. Select from a range of pre-built tables or create your own cross-tabulations from any of the survey variables.
The LFS is a quartelry household survey conducted on plus minus 100,000 individuals and 30,000 households, specifically designed to measure labour market issues. It also provides insight into a variety of issues related to the labour market, including the level and pattern of unemployment and the industrial and occupational structure of the economy. The design of the questionnaire and definitions used conform to the requirements set by international bodies such as the International Labour Organisation (ILO).
Included with the LFS is the Statistical release which provides useful insight into topics such as how the LFS was conducted, the interpretation of the LFS, an overview of the labour market and employment and unemployment patterns in March 2006.
