The Consumer Vulnerability Index (CVI) for South Africa amounted to 51 in the second quarter of 2016 – slightly up on the 50.5 recorded in the previous quarter. The CVI has been on a slight uptrend since early 2015, with the average CVI score during 2016 being 1.5 points higher than in 2015.
