South Africa Foreign Exchange Market (Monthly Report) - December 2015

In November 2015, measured on a year ago, the rand depreciated most against the US dollar (-23.6% y/y) and the Chinese yuan (-20%). The rand also lost against the Swiss franc (-18.2%), the British pound (-18.7%) and the euro (-9.1% y/y). However, the rand did strengthen against the Russian rouble (18.1% y/y) and the Brazilian real (19.4% y/y) and the Australian dollar (-6.9% y/y).
