In dollar terms, imports were up 3.3% on a month ago and down 11.9% measured at a 3-months annualised basis. Imports in dollar terms were 6.6% lower measured on a 12-months basis. In dollar terms, exports were 2.3% down on a month ago and up 12.8% on a 3-months annualised basis. Measured on a 12-months basis, exports in dollar terms were down by 6.2%. The latest 12-month merchandise trade deficit amounted to R180.1 billion which was a R1.2 billion deterioration on the previous 12 months’ deficit.
